Volunteering & Officiating
Hosting swim meets is an essential part of all competitive swimming programs. Swim meets allow our athletes to develop their skills, challenge themselves to reach new goals, and experience a fun and exciting part of our sport. In order to provide this opportunity for our swimmers and to run a successful swim meet, we need "all hands on deck".
All Competitive program families are asked to complete 2 steps each season, to fulfill their Volunteer requirement:
1. Complete ONE Swimming Canada officials training course. Detailed information on how to complete this will be emailed to our membership in early October. Click here to review the Officials Certification Pathway document from Swimming Canada. NEW members will begin at Level I. Training is free, and can be completed online!
2. Complete a volunteer shift at the Fundamentals swim meet that the Highwood Current will host on (Sa) February 14, 2026
In March 2026 the $100 Officiating / Volunteer Deposit paid at the time of registration will be returned to you as a credit on your Membership Account if your family has completed both of the required steps.
Note: All C4 & C5 swimmers, aged 13 & over must complete the Level 1 Officials course at minimum, and will be expected to volunteer at the swim meet as a part of their team leadership. ONE additional family member will also be required to officiate at the February meet.
